AllStarInc’s Jamail Berry Signs with Tri-Cities (IFL)
Friday 30th of December 2011
AllStarInc client Jamail Berry (SS-Western Michigan) has agreed to terms and has signed a contract with the Tri-Cities Fever of the IFL.
The Tri-Cities team is located in Kennewick WA which is about 3 1/2 hours from Seattle. Jamail Berry hails from New Castle, DE. Obviously, he has quite a trip ahead of him.
AllStarInc CEO/Agent Bill Mattis gave his views regarding the signing.
“We talked AT LENGTH about the distance especially because we had many other offers from teams that were much closer than the Tri-Cities team. But Jamail was extremely impressed in his phone discussions with Coach Shack and I have zero problem with the way that team is run. They are a team who is always contending and sending their players to the next level.”
Adam Shackleford is the Head Coach of the Fever who holds an extremely impressive career coaching record of 70-20 (.778). It’s hard to argue with a winning percentage like that…regardless of how far away you live.
The future is very bright for Berry according to Mattis.
“Jamail had a great workout with the Philadelphia Eagles before last year’s draft and we really thought they were going to take him to camp. He’s one of many guys we have that would have had an NFL shot if it wasn’t for the lockout. I have no question in my mind that he’s an NFL player. Somebody is going to give Jamail a chance and they will be greatly rewarded for many years.”
