AllStarInc Welcomes Darren Daulton to the Roster

Darren “Dutch” Daulton, former catcher with the Philadelphia Phillies, is the latest baseball great to join AllStarInc’s elite appearance roster.

Daulton, a 3-time All-Star selection, played within the Phillies organization for 17 seasons.  He won the Silver Slugger Award in 1992, which was regarded as his best season.  Leading the NL in RBIs with 109 that year, he also finished in the top 10 for on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS, HRs, walks, runs created, extra base hits, and the kitchen sink.  He followed up with an equally impressive 1993 season.  He was traded to the Florida Marlins in 1997, playing as 1st baseman and pinch hitter.

Daulton retired from baseball after the Marlins won the 1997 World Series.  He was ranked in the 2001 edition of Historical Baseball Abstract as the 25th greatest catcher of all time by Bill James.  Daulton was inducted into the Philadelphia Wall of Fame on August 6, 2010.  You can hear him on “Talking Baseball with Dutch” nightly from 6pm to 7pm on 97.5 The Fanatic during baseball season.
